A great option for Christmas morning breakfast!
This is a recipe I’ve made the last few years, so we’ll call it a tradition. It’s a plate full of sugar, cinnamon, brown sugar, buttery goodness.
For me, the inspiration comes from three places…
- It’s an homage to the old-school pull-apart recipe that my Mom always made. For us it was a New Year’s Day tradition, and we called it “Monkey Bread”.
- It also comes from me walking through the bakery at the grocery store, and seeing all of the freshly baked bread. Like many, I normally avoid bread & carbs like it’s a flesh-eating bacteria. But I would always see and SMELL the bread, and want to find an excuse to use it. Then one day…
- I came across this recipe from Bobby Flay. For full disclosure purposes, I have a huge man-crush on Bobby Flay so I couldn’t wait to give this one a try.
It’s delicious, and pretty simple too. And while I’m no chef, it is the most beautiful of all of the dishes that I make. Very Instagram-appropriate!
Give is a try, and let me know how it turns out!
